Absolutely gorgeous, this is a perfect example for how the open space of a lawn can ‘set off’ a tropical border. Love it.

First post here so figured I’d start with some pics. I’ll be rebuilding the left side border this year after removing a yucca (my other half insisted on getting) I’ve also dug out what was a good growing bottle brush shrub/tree that was rotted down to the roots, I’m so gutted about this one.

Another victim of the hard winter weather this year are my bananas. They haven’t been wrapped for the last 7 years or so have taken a good battering, this has been the worst year I’ve known them to die right back to the roots.

Any tree work done around my area I’m straight round to ask for some logs. I think they look great stripped and dotted around the garden, I’m sure my cats appreciate them as a jump up to the fences.

I’ve got a couple of new plants on order but my pride and joy has to be my aussie palm and my fortunei that looks great with lanters hanging from it.

4 years ago i started an Indoor Jungle. Today its nearly 50m by 20m in size and growing. I can’t get enough of making a hot tropical environment and always looking for new species of plants to add 🙂

Mine’s a bit of a mish mash but my general aim is to a larger, taller tropical look, whilst still keeping the ‘hot’ coloured flowers and climbers I’ve got going currently.

Any recs for tall, leafy stuff to grow in pots on my patio, greatly appreciated 🙂

Wow @m0v1em4n . What a view from your conservatory! The dark woodwork looks great against the lush green plants too. Are the carnivorous plants in your pot hardy?

Thank you , Yes the Pitcher plants are hardy, apparently they need a period of cold they even kept there tubes over winter.

The left side got hit bad by the frost and I lost my Melianthus Major and the Tetrapanax got a beating and still not recovered
