Semponiums anyone?
Posted by Juju on November 2, 2023 at 2:22 pmI got three semponiums in spring and I haven’t killed them yet (although the slugs have almost killed one of them)- does anyone grow them and how do they get through winter?

I have 3, they are only recent additions to my garden. Semponiums were bred to increase the hardiness of Aeoniums and should be able to take a reasonable amount of cold. I think they will still resent getting too wet though 😀

I have put them in the mini greenhouse for the winter. Hope they will survive! 😊

I have five semponiums along with my aeoniums. I have overwintered same way as aeoniums in frost free greenhouse but lost two semponiums winter 22/23. My aeoniums always seem to survive with no trouble. I live in Kent so not particularly bad winters but I will not be chancing them outside over winter.
