I bought one of your Musa sikkimensis earlier in the year. It’s in a container on the patio, pot is 15 inches across. Plant doing really well, there are several small pups showing. Would like some advice on how to overwinter it, we are in West Wales so plenty of rain and usually mild winters although we did go down to -8 last year. Should I leave it in the pot and move to greenhouse (unheated) or treat it like ensete maurelli ? Have managed to successfully overwinter several ensete dry storing in our garage last year. Many thanks, Linda

Not got sikkimensis but have basjoo. Need to protect by wrapping it up. Straw inside a cage then wrap it up.once they get bigger they get hardier. I use however corrugated cardboard ,wrap then fleece.west Yorkshire.

I have four sikkimensis, all in pots left outside and all come back every year. Will put a few in the ground next year as they have outgrown their pots.

Thanks for that, very useful. Feel more confident about leaving it in the pot and maybe putting some fleece round the pot – it has 3 pups (2 decent size and one very small) so hope I can keep them all safe until next year! Guessing from the Suffolk name you probably have drier winters than us in W Wales but we are probably “warmer” than the east coast.
