Hi @adam , I chop mine back to about 30cm tall. I use the chopped material to create newly rooted cuttings, this improves my chances of getting at least one of the plants through winter.
I keep my original plant in a pot in a warm greenhouse (min 7ºC) and keep the soil quite dry, maybe watering only once a month. This has worked well for me over the past few years. Let me know if you need any more help.
