First timer – help me plan my raised bed
Hi All,
I moved into my own house at the start of this year and the garden isn’t huge, but we’ve started to plan it out. I’ve always wanted a tropical garden – I think this was born from my rare aroid houseplant collection that started several years ago. I’m going to admit to be a total novice when it comes to outdoor gardening.
Whilst we were building the hardscape to the garden, I obviously started collecting plants… a ground border sadly isn’t an option so I’m left with a few raised beds with a mixture of sand/soil/rubble underneath them as that’s simply what the builders kindly left us. The beds themselves are a mixture of, I would say, 70% compost, 30% manure and 10% top soil.
I’d love it if someone could cast their eyes over this rough plan for the biggest raised bed (with the plants I currently have) and see if there’s any suggestions you might make? I am aware some of these plants are not winter hardy and I’ll need to either dry store or bring inside.

Updates! The T. Rex obviously wasn’t the best of ideas and I’ll likely move the Ensete. It’s probably best not to rush this.
