    Just wanted to seek some advice to check that my Brugmansia is getting the best care I can give it. I bought it from @Craig earlier this year as a young cutting. I water it every day and feed once a week and so far, it appears to be doing ok – it’s certainly grown a lot! I have noticed some pinhole holes in the leaves of late but haven’t seen any bugs on it – might that be water droplet burns?

    And lastly, would it be expected to flower in its first year?

    Any other tips greatly appreciated!

    Many thanks,

    Steve

    Hi @SteveDemp , it has certainly grown a lot! The first thing I thought when I saw the pictures was sun scorch from water drops too.

    Brugmansia are VERY hungry plants. I would recommend feeding Brugs at least twice a week with liquid tomato feed from early May – late September. This will encourage strong growth and encourage flowering. Flowering usually occurs in mid/late summer for most Brugmansia. The precursor to blooms is noticing when the branches split into a ‘Y’ shape. After this growth type flower buds usually follow. Make sure to keep the soil nice and moist in all this hot weather too.

    I hope that helps?

    @Craig – that’s great advice, many thanks!

    I’ll up the tom feeding as you suggest, and will hopefully see some flowers later 🙂

    Thanks again,

    Steve
